Marshall/Madison Street Update:

Work is progressing on the Madison-Marshall Improvements Project. A NEW TRAFFIC PATTERN will be introduced during the day on Thursday, April 2nd, including:

-Closure of East Marshall Street between Madison Street and Liberty Street to traffic; and, 

-Temporarily opening Madison Street to North-South traffic. Please be careful traveling through the newly opened intersection as the final coat of pavement has not yet been placed, so there are noticeable bumps throughout. 

We ask that motorists and pedestrians alike PLEASE CONTINUE TO USE CAUTION AROUND THE WORK ZONE. 

If you are experiencing no water from possibly a frozen meter, or other causes - please first contact the town office 540-687-5152 Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. After hours or if the office is closed call the emergency number
540-325-0748 before you call a plumber. Inboden Environmental Services is responsible for our water/waste water systems. IES can determine if there is a problem with the town's equipment/system or if you need to call a plumber.

The Town is not responsible for your plumbing bills.  




The Middleburg Planning Commission will hold a public hearing beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 27, 2015 to hear public comments on the following:

Zoning Text Amendment 15-01:  An ordinance to repeal and enact Article XVII, Part II of the Middleburg Zoning Ordinance pertaining to floodplain overlay district regulations.

The hearing will take place at the Town Office, 10 W. Marshall Street, Middleburg, Virginia.  The file for this application may be reviewed there from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, holidays excepted.  Questions may be directed to the Town Planner at (540) 687-5152 or by email at

The Middleburg Town Council will hold public hearings beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2015 to accept public comments on the following:

Zoning Map Amendment 15-01:  Ordinance to rezone 0.14 acres of land at 109 West Marshall Street (PIN# 538-27-5100) from R-3 Residential to C-1 Restricted Commercial District.  The Land Use Policy Map in the Comprehensive Plan calls for commercial designation.

Special Use Permit 15-02:  Request of Andrew Senker on behalf of T-Mobile for a special use permit to upgrade an existing telecommunications facility at 10 East Marshall Street (PIN# 538-28-6067), zoned AC Agricultural Conservancy District.

The Middleburg Town Council is accepting letters of interest from individuals who wish to be considered for service on the Go Green Committee.  Go Green is responsible for advising the Town Council on environmental issues.  They are responsible for developing recommendations for environmental action plans and for the implementation of the recommendations contained in the Healthy Eating, Active Living (HEAL) resolution adopted by the Council.  Their goal is to increase community awareness about environmental issues, such as the value of recycling, the importance of preserving water quality and the methods for conserving energy.   The Committee meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.; and, in work session on an as-needed basis.  Terms are for a two-year period.  

Anyone interested in serving on this Committee is asked to send a letter of interest no later than April 30, 2015 to the following:

Inboden Environmental Services is responsible for the operation of the Town's water/waste water systems.  Should you experience problems after-hours please call their after hours number:

2013 Consumer Confidence Report (Annual Water Report)

The Town of Middleburg has issued its Annual Drinking Water Report, also known as the Consumer Confidence Report for 2013.  This report is design to inform you about your drinking water.  Copies of the report were mailed to each water customer in their utility bill on May 8, 2014.  Copies of the report are also available in the Town Office, located at 10 West Marshall Street. 



The Town of Middleburg has developed an Automated Phone Alert System that will be used to send businesses and residents public safety, emergency and weather-related messages.  If you are a resident of the Town or a merchant in the Town and would like to receive the Town's automated phone alert messages, please contact the Town Clerk at to get your name on the list.  You will need to provide your name and a telephone number for the contact.  Messages will only be sent to one telephone number per resident/merchant.  For more information, please contact Rhonda North, Town Clerk, at (540) 687-5152.


Town Code Chapter 97, Article I, pertaining to Business License Taxes requires every business and profession engaging in business within the Town limits to obtain an annual business license.  If you feel your business license fee has been incorrectly assessed or that your business has been placed in the wrong business license category, you have the right to file an appeal with the Town Treasurer, Debbie J. Wheeler, at 10 W. Marshall Street, P. O. Box 187, Middleburg, Virginia 20118 or  The procedures for filing an appeal may be found in Town Code Chapter 97.
