Summer is officially here - we are looking forward to those lazy, crazy, hazy days of summer.
No need to travel during July to enjoy music, art, farmers market, shopping, dining or a get away weekend in our B & B's: Middleburg Country Inn  and The Red Fox Inn & Tavern or the Salamander Resort & Spa in the Town of Middleburg.

Every Saturday in July - July 5, 12, 19, & 26 - Don't forget our Middleburg Community Farmers Market from 8 am - 12 noon.  A great variety of vendors this year, Barbecue, cakes, popcorn, empanadas, coffee, flowers, chips & salsas, breads, cookies, other baked goods, fresh produce, chicken, lamb, beef, eggs, honey, jams, home remedies, art, new vendors!!  

Saturday afternoons from 1-6 there is Art in the Pink Box Park - local artists, music, wine tastings.

Mark your calendar for Middleburg's Annual Summer Sidewalk Sale the first weekend in August - August 1, 2 & 3.  Watch for more information!!

Outdoor dining:  Market Salamander, Red Horse Tavern, Middleburg Common Grounds, The Upper Crust, Fox's Den Tavern, The Red Fox Inn and Tavern, Cuppa Giddyup, The French Hound, Middleburg Deli, Gold Cup Wine Bar at Salamander Resort & Spa all have outdoor seating. Don't forget Scruffy's is open for the season - Icecream!!!

Madison/Marshall Street Improvement Project

The Town of Middleburg will receive sealed bids for the above-referenced project in the Town Hall Council Chambers, located at 10 West Marshall Street, Middleburg, Virginia 20118.  All bids must be delivered between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.  Any bids received after the specified time and date will not be considered.

The work under this project is to be accomplished in five phases between August 4, 2014 and October 3, 2014.  It will consist of the construction of Marshall/Madison Street improvements and East Marshall Street sidewalk.  It will include curbing, underdrains, crosswalks, sidewalks and landscaping as specified on the plans prepared by J2 Engineering, dated June 11, 2014.

A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held July 1, 2014, beginning at 10:00 a.m., in the Town Office Council Chambers.

Job Description / Responsibilities

“PART TIME” The Town of Middleburg Police Department is currently seeking applications for certified Police Officers, employed fulltime with another agency, to provide part time fill in shift coverage.  We invite you to join the ranks of our growing police department where you will experience small town policing and the sense of community that only comes from a town like Middleburg. 

This position involves the protection of life and property in a uniformed patrol setting, community policing, foot patrols, traffic enforcement, and the ability to work independently.   

Expected minimum hours per month will be 12 and additional hours as events occur and or as needed. 

Starting salary and benefit’s

  • Salary is $25.00 per hour
  • Additional hours will also be available as needed. 


  • Virginia DCJS Certified Police Officer currently working in another Virginia Police/sheriff’s agency
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be 21 years of age at date of appointment
  • Successfully complete all aspects of the hire process

2013 Consumer Confidence Report (Annual Water Report)

The Town of Middleburg has issued its Annual Drinking Water Report, also known as the Consumer Confidence Report for 2013.  This report is design to inform you about your drinking water.  Copies of the report were mailed to each water customer in their utility bill on May 8, 2014.  Copies of the report are also available in the Town Office, located at 10 West Marshall Street. 



The Town of Middleburg has developed an Automated Phone Alert System that will be used to send businesses and residents public safety, emergency and weather-related messages.  If you are a resident of the Town or a merchant in the Town and would like to receive the Town's automated phone alert messages, please contact the Town Clerk at to get your name on the list.  You will need to provide your name and a telephone number for the contact.  Messages will only be sent to one telephone number per resident/merchant.  For more information, please contact Rhonda North, Town Clerk, at (540) 687-5152.


The Town Council recently adopted regulations related to private fireworks displays.  In addition to the permit required by the Loudoun County Fire Marshall, there are regulations that apply in the Town limits. One requirement is that the permit holder must provide written notice of the date, time and location of the display at least ten days in advance to those residents who seek such notice.  If you would like to receive a notice, please contact the Town Clerk at (540) 687-5152 or
