  BLUEMONT CONCERT SERIES RETURNING TO SOUTH MADISON STREET

Concerts on South Madison Street will begin on Saturday, July 11 at 7:30 pm.  Bring chairs, or blanket, a picnic or snacks to enjoy during the concert.  In case of bad weather, the indoor location will be Middleburg Community Charter School.
  
The July 4th concert will be held at Middleburg Community Center as part of the July 4th Celebration. This concert will be FREE.  Performers:  Pan Masters - Caribbean Steel Drum Ensemble.

PUBLIC HEARING 
MIDDLEBURG PLANNING COMMISSION

The Middleburg Planning Commission will hold a public hearing beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27 (Note: new public hearing date), 2015 to hear public comments on the following:

SD 15-01 - A request of Salamander Development, LLC for approval of the preliminary subdivision plat for 49 lots on a portion of land at 500 North Pendleton Street (PIN#s 538-35-1294 and 538-25-7458) conditionally zoned R-1 and R-3 Residential Districts.

The hearing will take place at the Town Office, 10 West Marshall Street, Middleburg, Virginia.  The file for this application may be reviewed there from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, holidays excepted.  Questions may be directed to the Town Planner at (540) 687-5152 or by email at townplanner@townofmiddleburg.org.

GO GREEN

The Middleburg Town Council is accepting letters of interest from individuals who wish to be considered for service on the Go Green Committee.  Go Green is responsible for advising the Town Council on environmental issues.  They are responsible for developing recommendations for environmental action plans and for the implementation of the recommendations contained in the Healthy Eating, Active Living (HEAL) resolution adopted by the Council.  Their goal is to increase community awareness about environmental issues, such as the value of recycling, the importance of preserving water quality and the methods for conserving energy.   The Committee meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.; and, in work session on an as-needed basis.  Terms are for a two-year period.  

Anyone interested in serving on this Committee (do not need to be a Town resident) is asked to send a letter of interest no later than June 30, 2015 to the following:

COMMITTEE VACANCY
WELLHEAD PROTECTION ADVISORY COMMITTEE


The Middleburg Town Council is accepting letters of interest from individuals who wish to be considered for service on the Wellhead Protection Advisory Committee (WPAC).  The WPAC is responsible for identifying key issues and challenges to developing and implementing a source water protection plan, reviewing options to address source water protection issues, reviewing and implementing the Wellhead Protection Plan and for making recommendations related to those items to the Mayor and Town Council.  Members should have experience and an interest in source water protection.  Terms are for a two-year period.  The WPAC meets quarterly on the third Tuesday of the month (January, April, July and October) at 6:00 p.m. and in work sessions as needed.

Anyone interested in serving on this Committee is asked to send a letter of interest no later than July 31, 2015 to the following:

COMMITTEE VACANCY
MIDDLEBURG ARTS COUNCIL


The Middleburg Town Council is accepting letters of interest from individuals who wish to be considered for service on the Middleburg Arts Council (MAC).  The MAC is responsible for coordinating the community cultural and art events sponsored by the Town of Middleburg, excluding the Christmas in MIddleburg event.  The MAC is responsible for staffing the events; for the formulation of the appropriate rules for the events; for organizing any entertainment associated with the events; and, for advertising, promoting and marketing the events.  Members should have an interest in arts and/or cultural activities.  Terms are for a two-year period.  The MAC meets at 6:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month; and, in work session on an as-needed basis.

Anyone interested in serving on this committee (need not be a Town resident) is asked to send a letter of interest no later than July 17, 2015 to the following:

Inboden Environmental Services is responsible for the operation of the Town's water/waste water systems.  Should you experience problems after-hours please call their after hours number:

2014 Consumer Confidence Report (Annual Water Report)

The Town of Middleburg has issued its Annual Drinking Water Report, also known as the Consumer Confidence Report for 2014.  This report is designed to inform you about your drinking water.  Copies of the report were mailed to each water customer in their utility bill on May 13, 2015.  Copies of the report are also available in the Town Office, located at 10 West Marshall Street.

AUTOMATED PHONE ALERT SYSTEM

The Town of Middleburg has developed an Automated Phone Alert System that will be used to send businesses and residents public safety, emergency and weather-related messages.  If you are a resident of the Town or a merchant in the Town and would like to receive the Town's automated phone alert messages, please contact the Town Clerk at rnorth@townofmiddleburg.org to get your name on the list.  You will need to provide your name and a telephone number for the contact.  Messages will only be sent to one telephone number per resident/merchant.  For more information, please contact Rhonda North, Town Clerk, at (540) 687-5152.

ATTENTION BUSINESS OWNERS LOCATED WITHIN THE TOWN OF MIDDLEBURG

Town Code Chapter 97, Article I, pertaining to Business License Taxes requires every business and profession engaging in business within the Town limits to obtain an annual business license.  If you feel your business license fee has been incorrectly assessed or that your business has been placed in the wrong business license category, you have the right to file an appeal with the Town Treasurer, Debbie J. Wheeler, at 10 W. Marshall Street, P. O. Box 187, Middleburg, Virginia 20118 or towntreasurer@townofmiddleburg.org.  The procedures for filing an appeal may be found in Town Code Chapter 97.
