We apologize for the inconvenience of the construction on North Madison Street. When the projects is completed there will be sidewalks and a safer entrance/exit to North Madison and Marshall Street.

November is the time of year we all take extra time to remember everything we are thankful for.  
Middleburg is so fortunate to have a great volunteers.  Thank you to all who give their time and talents.

December is right around the corner!  Please remember to shop local, support our small businesses.
Friday, December 5th is the Annual Tree Lighting at the Pink Box at 5 pm.  A Place To Be will have their Holiday Recital at Salamander Resort & Spa in the Grand Living Room at 6:30.
Christmas in Middleburg will be Saturday, December 6th. The Hunt Parade is at 11 am - the Christmas Parade with Santa begins at 2 pm - for a full schedule of events go to

Our shops and boutiques have great merchandise, some items may be on sale.  If you are spending a little time in our backyard, hopefully you will book a room in one of our local inns, they have very comfortable rooms - Middleburg Country Inn & The Red Fox Inn and Tavern.  Salamander Resort and Spa has very comfortable overnight options, spa treatments and many activities:  check their website for details -

The first phase of the Madison-Marshall Improvements Project is underway, including the closure of the intersection to through traffic.  Detour signs directing traffic around the intersection are in place.  This detour will last until approximately November 21.  We ask that motorists and pedestrians alike PLEASE USE CAUTION AROUND THE WORK ZONE.  


We will update this page with information, including estimated dates of the construction phases, as the project continues.   


Information about Ebola Virus

Loudoun County government agencies, in coordination with local, state, and federal partners, are prepared in the event a case of Ebola occurs locally.  It is important to remember that people with Ebola cannot spread germs until they have symptoms, and that the disease is spread through direct contact with the bodily fluids of a person who has Ebola.

The Middleburg Town Council is accepting letters of interest from individuals who wish to be considered for service on the Middleburg Arts Council (MAC).  The MAC is responsible for coordinating the community cultural and arts events sponsored by the Town, excluding Christmas in Middleburg.  The MAC is responsible for staffing the events; for the formulation of the appropriate rules for the events; for organizing any entertainment associated with the events; and, for advertising, promoting and marketing the events.  Members should have an interest in arts and/or cultural activities.  The initial appointment shall be to fill an unexpired term, said term to expire June 14, 2016.  Normally, terms are for a two-year period.  The MAC meets at 6:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month; and, in work session on an as-needed basis.

Anyone interested in serving on this committee is asked to send a letter of interest no later than January 14, 2015 to the following:

The Middleburg Town Council is accepting letters of interest from individuals who wish to be considered for service on the Pink Box Advisory Committee.  This Committee coordinates the operation of the Pink Box Visitor's Center as a central location for information about the Middleburg area.  The Committee is responsible for staffing and day-to-day operations of the Visitor's Center and for the formulation of its operations, which are submitted to and approved by the Town Council.  Members serve two year terms.  Meetings are held as required; and, are called by the Chairman of the Committee.

Anyone interested in serving on this Committee is asked to send a letter of interest no later than December 15, 2014 to the following:

is responsible for the operation of the
Town's water/waste water systems. Should you experience problems after-hours, 
please call their after-hours number  


Continue to call the town office for billing questions, new service, problems with water/waste water systems during regular business hours 8:30-4:30 Monday - Friday.



2013 Consumer Confidence Report (Annual Water Report)

The Town of Middleburg has issued its Annual Drinking Water Report, also known as the Consumer Confidence Report for 2013.  This report is design to inform you about your drinking water.  Copies of the report were mailed to each water customer in their utility bill on May 8, 2014.  Copies of the report are also available in the Town Office, located at 10 West Marshall Street. 



The Town of Middleburg has developed an Automated Phone Alert System that will be used to send businesses and residents public safety, emergency and weather-related messages.  If you are a resident of the Town or a merchant in the Town and would like to receive the Town's automated phone alert messages, please contact the Town Clerk at to get your name on the list.  You will need to provide your name and a telephone number for the contact.  Messages will only be sent to one telephone number per resident/merchant.  For more information, please contact Rhonda North, Town Clerk, at (540) 687-5152.


Town Code Chapter 97, Article I, pertaining to Business License Taxes requires every business and profession engaging in business within the Town limits to obtain an annual business license.  If you feel your business license fee has been incorrectly assessed or that your business has been placed in the wrong business license category, you have the right to file an appeal with the Town Treasurer, Debbie J. Wheeler, at 10 W. Marshall Street, P. O. Box 187, Middleburg, Virginia 20118 or  The procedures for filing an appeal may be found in Town Code Chapter 97.
