Chaos Revisited, a juried gallery exhibition of AiM artists' work will be held through the month of October (October 1-November 2) at 102 W. Washington Street (formerly Betsey's).  Dan Kaseman, owner of the building, kindly donated the space when temporary space was sought to be used by the artists.  Gallery Hours:  Wednesday and Thursday: 12-5, Friday and Saturday: 12-6, Sunday: 12-5 -  

Visit the new Mount Defiance Cidery and Distillery at 207 West Washington Street.  

Outdoor dining:  Market Salamander, Red Horse Tavern, Middleburg Common Grounds, The Upper Crust, The Red Fox Inn and Tavern, Cuppa Giddyup, The French Hound, Middleburg Deli, Gold Cup Wine Bar at Salamander Resort & Spa all have outdoor seating. Don't forget Scruffy's is open for the season - Icecream!!!

On Thursday, the 23rd day of October, 2014, the Council of the Town of Middleburg, Virginia will hold a public hearing on the proposed issuance of bonds of the Town in the estimated maximum principal amount of $1,500,000 to finance various capital expenditures for utility system purposes, including, without limitation, waterline replacements and pumping station improvements.  Such bonds shall be general obligations of the Town for the payment of which the Town's full faith and credit shall be irrevocably pledged.  The net revenues of the Town's water and sewer systems may also be pledged to the repayment of such bonds.  

The public hearing will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. in the Town Hall Council Chambers at 10 West Marshall Street, Middleburg, Virginia 20117.  Interested persons may appear at such time and place and present their views. 


The Middleburg Planning Commission will hold a public hearing beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2014 to hear public comments on the following:

ZONING MAP AMENDMENT 14-01:  An Ordinance to rezone two lots at 110 East Federal Street (PIN#s 538-29-0222 and 538-29-0624) from R-3 Residential District to C-1 Restricted Commercial District.  The Land Use Policy Map in the Comprehensive Plan calls for commercial designation.

The hearing will take place at the Town Office, 10 W. Marshall Street, Middleburg, Virginia 20117.  The file for this application may be reviewed there from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, holidays excepted.  Questions may be directed to the Town Planner at (540) 687-5152 or by email at

2013 Consumer Confidence Report (Annual Water Report)

The Town of Middleburg has issued its Annual Drinking Water Report, also known as the Consumer Confidence Report for 2013.  This report is design to inform you about your drinking water.  Copies of the report were mailed to each water customer in their utility bill on May 8, 2014.  Copies of the report are also available in the Town Office, located at 10 West Marshall Street. 



The Town of Middleburg has developed an Automated Phone Alert System that will be used to send businesses and residents public safety, emergency and weather-related messages.  If you are a resident of the Town or a merchant in the Town and would like to receive the Town's automated phone alert messages, please contact the Town Clerk at to get your name on the list.  You will need to provide your name and a telephone number for the contact.  Messages will only be sent to one telephone number per resident/merchant.  For more information, please contact Rhonda North, Town Clerk, at (540) 687-5152.


Town Code Chapter 97, Article I, pertaining to Business License Taxes requires every business and profession engaging in business within the Town limits to obtain an annual business license.  If you feel your business license fee has been incorrectly assessed or that your business has been placed in the wrong business license category, you have the right to file an appeal with the Town Treasurer, Debbie J. Wheeler, at 10 W. Marshall Street, P. O. Box 187, Middleburg, Virginia 20118 or  The procedures for filing an appeal may be found in Town Code Chapter 97. 


The Town Council recently adopted regulations related to private fireworks displays.  In addition to the permit required by the Loudoun County Fire Marshall, there are regulations that apply in the Town limits. One requirement is that the permit holder must provide written notice of the date, time and location of the display at least ten days in advance to those residents who seek such notice.  If you would like to receive a notice, please contact the Town Clerk at (540) 687-5152 or
